Roti_Kapada_and_Makan
What do we need to live
human life ? It's 'Roti', 'Kapada' and 'Makaan' that's
all we need to live a better life. But we don't settle for it. It has been
never ever enough for us, hasn't it?... We all want a privileged life.
Although, I would not call it as dignified life as it is desired and defined by
others. Let me ask you this, are you pleased to have a roof over your head? Are
you content with the pair of cloths you have to cover your body? Well certainly
not.
As we learnt
in economics, human wants are unlimited and it is impossible to satisfy them,
but businessmen made a business and huge empires over your cravings,
dissatisfaction, continuous and never ending wants.
We dwell in such a kind
of society where opinion of people matters a lot to us and by considering this
fact we accept and live life which is framed by someone and not by us. That’s
why we fail to act reasonably when it comes to making wise decisions. There are
major changes that has taken place in our life related to our basic necessities.
Let’s have a look at them.
Our expectation of ‘Roti’ has reached to fine dining, ‘Kapada’ was never enough for us although we are well verse that only a pair of cloths is what we need to wear at the a time. For us clothing has reached to such an extent where it does not matter how it feels after wearing it but the ‘BRAND’ matter’s the most, we think shape of our bodies will be covered and it will uplift our looks with the help of branded cloths. We have so much trust on these ‘BRANDED’ cloths that we 100 % believe that it does the magic for us and hence we spend handsome amount on these cloths.
At last , it’s our
‘MAKAAN’. Let me ask you this, how much place does a normal individual needs to
stay ? with the change of time the concept of our sweet home has changed to
huge and giant bungalows and mansions. Our perception towards our sweet home
has changed drastically as we look it as a status symbol.
Hello everyone! Today I
would like to write an article on our three basic needs and the radical changes
that took place during the time. Most important my quiet observation about
people and their life in today’s time.s
This article contains
three significant aspects that is Roti , Kapada and Makan. In order to justify each aspect mentioned above I have decided to divide this article in three parts. Today’s article exclusively deals with ‘ROTI’.
‘We need less but our tummy is large’ well I am talking about consuming our food. We never earn our roti but we toil our self to grab it. Whichever job, work or business comes on our way,we go ahead and take it to satisfy our hunger. It does not matter whether we like it or not. We are well verse with the famous phrase i.e. “ Papi pet ka saval hai karna padata hai” and guess what, we don’t stop here, we wire that into our next generation too.
Let’s see how much food our body needs to function properly ?
An average woman needs about 2000 calories per day to maintain and in case of a man it is 2500. These calories are easily achievable with the help of easy diet you don’t need to follow a fancy diet for it. All you need is green vegetables, fruits, eggs, meat, nuts, grains to be healthy and in a great shape and they are available at reasonable price.
All you have to do is to eat wisely keeping in mind, tomorrow there is day and you don’t have to finish everything today itself. What I mean is that your ‘ Roti’ does not demand you to toil for it.
Let's do an exercise, ask any elderly individual who is or was not happy with his/her job why did he/her choose this job if he/she hated it so much ?
The best answer you will get is “To earn for a living that is bread and butter”.
I strongly believe that our perception towards our ‘Roti’ is totally vague and we think we need tones of food to live 1 human life but the truth is when it comes to ‘Roti’ always remember this principle 'Less is More'.
We and our ‘Roti’
Normally there are very few people who pay attention on what they are eating and how many calories are being consumed on daily basis. What includes in our diet ?
We live in such a time, where time is money and most of us are ‘Busy being busy’.
In today’s time it is very easy to get food on a click of your gadget or it is easily available at your work place. We simply order and enjoy it, isn't it?
Now give a thought on this, do you know how it's made ? what kind or hand of ingredients were used and how healthy it is or what energy that person must have put in ?
My friend our mother’s have taken due care while we were young , so that we could eat better food and for that purpose she was always on her toes to give you the most nutritious food filled of love.
Our eating habits
What I have observed is that most of us tend to skip their breakfast, where as it is the most important meal of the day. We directly jump into lunch or munch on some junk.
Later on, we have our dinner late in the night with our family sometimes happily, well, that again depends upon our mood and circumstances that took place during the course of the day. Most of the time, discussions turn into arguments which takes place while having our meals, especially at dinner.
I would like to blame the movies, as we are always inspired from them. The most destructing habit which we practice while eating is watching television.
Speaking on the phone or talking while eating. Some of us are so busy that they cannot afford to eat peacefully as they can’t devote 20 minutes of their time to their own body. One more vital instrument has taken important position in our life and that is the‘Mobile Phone’. It became so significant part of our life that we just can’t eat calmly without it.
By above mentioned habits
let us give a thought on how much we respect our ‘Roti’. Now let us see what
are the consequences of not respecting it. By skipping breakfast, it leads us
to starving which results into over-eating and helps to gain more weight.
Let me share
the most important thing about our ‘Roti’ it needs attention to be properly
digested , mixed with our blood and turn into a blessing to your body. Now
considering talking , speaking over the phone or conversing with your family watching
TV while eating food will not help you to digest the food. This will
create low quality of sugar, healthy fat and many pave way to many ill
effects, as our attention has shifted from the food to the person who is
speaking or the words spoken by that source.
Wide
and inclusive definition of our Roti
Ideal food for our bodies are green vegetables,
fruits, eggs, meats, nuts, seeds and grains but we don’t settle with this
because its monotonous to eat the same healthy food every day and we tempt to eat
something different such as packed, processed, oily food which will satisfy our
tongue for seconds but has a capacity to cause our bodies with permanent and
serious damage.
Such as it can lead to liver disease, diabetes,
heart disease and much more. Ingredients in these processed food can help us to
put on high calories, which means the food we consume reflects on our physical
appearance and whenever someone points it out. with generosity we have the most
popular excuse i.e. “Main khate pite ghar ka hu” .
Actors
as a Salesman
Who is your hero? Hero’s are those people who act indispensable for the
betterment of the society, who creates value and lead us to righteousness. Whereas actors
are those people who play the character mentioned in the script for a movie.
But we consider them our hero’s, as we are confused with the concept of hero’s
and actors.
We watch these actors on television, selling different kinds of
drinks, processed food and numerous food products which are hazardous to health
but the truth is they do not consume or use it themselves as we can see they are in great shape, their glowing skin and good health.
Imagine the bad effects of these
products on the consumers. It means they are aware about the ill effects of the products they
are selling to us, but don’t blame them as they are ready with the excuse "Papi pet ka saval hai, Karna hi padata hai"
In 2013, a study was performed at Tohoku University
in Japan, examined the effects of television on
the brains of 276 children along with amount of time spent watching TV and its
long term effects. They found that part of their brain associated with higher
arousal and lower verbal reasoning ability and that’s what happens when we
watch our actor’s doing advertisement of a product. We tent to lose our
reasoning capacity and here is the opportunity for those people to sell you
poison.
Solution is simple limit your consumption of lousy junk food and here is what I have experienced the solution for these tempting food by cooking at home !! whatever we desire to eat, we can simply make it at home with the help of our smart phone. Google/YouTube is an amazing channel to learn new dishes all you have to do is dedicate 40 minutes of your day and believe me we all have that amount of time if we organize our day properly.
Irrespective of gender you can make food for yourself and your lovable ones, here you are acquiring new skill set and treating your body with healthy food and most important creating a beautiful bond with your lovable one.
