Kapada
The second basic requirement for us is Kapada. Let’s consider, the ancient time clothes which were made from natural elements of fur, grass, leaves, bones, animal skin, shells etc slowly and gradually we have reached to the highest standard of clothing. The very purpose of clothing is to protect our bodies and cover it. As society is developing, at highest pace the purpose of clothing is also changing. The aim of clothing has shifted from protection to elegance. Lately, the aim of clothing is a mark or symbol of dignity.
Our Perception towards Clothing
Our
perception has widened about clothing and I could simply make it by looking at clothing, as a business. What do we think before buying clothes? How does it look? Or how does it feel? What
do we exactly see in the clothes and buy them for an exorbitant price? Is it the
price tag? Or comfort? What’s the purpose of buying clothes? Need ? Greed
?
Present
scenario in the society is all about “seeking attention” and most of us try to
grab the attention of other’s by making, clothes, as one of the medium to do so.
Whenever we buy clothes we give a thought about how does it look? What kind of
brand is it? What is the price? And the list goes on….
Our Culture and Clothing
We all have different cultures. It means, we all
have diverse characteristic, language, religion and social habits, along
with these, clothing is no exception to it. I would like to relate clothing with culture &
customs.
What our custom says about clothing? At first, it
divides men, women and their clothing. If they try to interchange it will be
violation of custom. I am thankful to this time as we have the leverage of
choice when it comes to clothing. I surely believe that customs are made by
humans for their own comfort and I would say, to follow custom, it is totally a
matter of choice. So, follow what feels reasonable to you.
Lets us take an example, we have been taught
that we need to dress well when we have a visitor at home or when we are going
somewhere out. Let me read this between the lines for you, it is about sticking
to our respective custom, culture.
What I never understood is why we wear clothes
to please others? Don’t we respect our own self, is that why we need to change
and wear something ‘better’? Why don’t we dress for ourselves? To feel
comfortable and to be at ease. This aspect of culture does not damage much to
men as compared to women.
Our Festivals
Festivals
bring excitement, joy and hope. The excitement of delicious food, meeting our
loved ones and getting new clothes. When it comes to clothing it becomes a
mandatory custom to buy new clothes. It doesn’t matter whether you need it or not, all
we know is to grab new pair of clothes like others.
It seems we have wired ourselves in such a way that if we don’t buy clothes on festivals it will be called as incomplete celebration and to fulfill our desire we end up buying such clothes, which we hardly wear in normal days. So what happens to those new clothes after celebration of festivals? Well, our poor wardroom takes the burden and then of course months pass by and we no longer fit in them.

People’s Judgment and Clothing
People
tend to judge others on the basis of clothes as it is a prima-facie thing to be
seen and we are well aware of it. So, we invest our productive hours to fit in
such clothes which pleases other's eyes, to have fulfilled all the essential elements of our custom.
Shopping
What
strikes in your mind when it comes to shopping? Excitement to visit numerous
stores, looking at all the sparkling things and many more. Now there are two
effects which makes an impact on us first is positive and we feel happy but not
satisfied and the feeling of not having enough goes on and that’s the second
but negative impact, it won’t stop here it turns into an addiction and craving for
more.
Pain and Pleasure
The
“Price Tag” plays with us like a lottery ticket, let’s see how? Sometimes it
makes us joyful when we could afford it and most of the time it helps us to
feel distressed as the matter of fact, we cannot afford it and we give our self a small relief and promise to toil more to make ourselves capable to buy it.
Here is what we would love to ask you? Is it all worth of buying that piece of cloth?
Why is it so important for you to buy it. Let me help you with the answer, you
have given so much importance because;
- Most of the time you are tired of your old clothes.
- You think you will stand different from the crowd.
- You will be indispensable.
- You will be updated with fashion by following the current trend and competition.
- You believe that it is going to make you happy and complete your personality.
- It will boost your personality and character.
- Your peer group will pay respect to you and you could influence others with the help of particular brand.
Branding Business
What is a brand? The term brand is a trust which
ensures your reliability on that product and a promise that your expectation
will be fulfilled. We would simply mean it, an entrepreneur who wants you to
see him or her in that trustful manner through his/her product.
I would simply appreciate all the entrepreneurs
as business and “entrepreneurship is a talent”, as Gary Vee says and it needs
endless planning, true execution and tireless work. But, when they make their
perfect product it’s you who pays for it. They inject the urge of wanting their
world class product through various mediums like television and most popular in
today’s time that is social media which is called as “Digital Entrepreneurship”.
is another powerful tool for digital entrepreneurship and they take the help of
actors to promote their brand, as actors are the best influencers. In today’s
time they don’t need to catch you in the market or they don’t want to pay your
attention to their product. Because they have entered into your virtual world
where you spend your 85% of attention on.
“Branding
is a game of seeking attention, the movement you start losing reasoning-ability you
become a slave to their products”.
High Achievers and their Clothing
What should I wear today? Your everyday’s question and biggest query of
life. We prepare our clothing a day prior to look great as though that will
help you to win the day.
For me the early morning is Mastery or Victory time as those are the hours which are most
crucial hours of our life and you tend to invest it in your daily and basic choices
which does not give you desirable results and clothing is one of them, whereas
your morning hours should be invested in your own self. That might be learning,
exercising, reading powerful books, yoga, meditation or anything which will
help you at the long run of life. By doing this, you will win your day as you will be
more in control, focus, effective and powerful. As during early hours, our energy is at the highest peak.
Let’s consider our high achievers
and their perception towards clothing.
Leonardo Da Vinci said “Simplicity is the ultimate
sophistication”.
Albert Einstein was a minimalist.
Twilight star, Robert Pattinson who has no interest in
material possession and spending money, his area of interest is charity.
Steve Jobs preferred a particular pattern of
clothing.
Mark Zuckerberg wears the same color t-shirt every
single day.
By
considering their perception towards clothing, we could understand that they gave
the least priority towards clothing. Because they understood the magic of
choosing, it seems to look simple but it takes hell out of productivity from
you.
They
choose to be more productive than rest of the crowd, to be an epic player in
their craft. So they do not waste their valuable time in choosing what to wear
today? They are known by their work and the will power is to do well for the
betterment of the society.
They are aware that colorful, different style,
trending clothes won’t help them to be better at their game neither it will
help them to be a lesser quality of human being. They are on the verge to make
an impact on the world and while doing so they can’t invest their valuable time in
choosing something which will kill their productivity.
